Myself and my 2 sons got whooping cough last year, we were all immunised but we still got a full on whack of it.
The were 10 and 11 when they got it and the coughing was horrible...but it nearly killed me, knocked me for six, pulled the muscles in my back and stomach from coughing all night, sleeping sitting up...and I looked like crap. Took a good 6 months to get over it.
As an adult whooping cough was the most hideous illness I have had....get immunised against it is my advice.
