The direct investing accounts are a great idea BUT
The only problem (If what you all seem to be saying about those funds being only able to buy ASX:300 stocks) is that shares like PLS were so far out of the 300 when they were cheap (& isn't that the point we all dream of loading up at) that you couldn't direct invest via one of the public funds when the "next big winner" - in this case PLS was "cheap" because it was no where near the 300!!!
Hence why many of you went down the SMSF path (not financial advice)
