All the acorns don't grow into Oak Trees though, a bit of risk vs reward. A stock in the ASX300 s more likely to survive than a penny dreadful out of it.
SMSF could be a destroyer of retirement funds by chasing the penny dreadfuls all the time.
Even when it was in the ASX300 PLS dropped considerably and became a screaming buy for those willing to take a shot. As is the case when a stock falls like a stone, many choose not to buy it. That can be a prudent move.
SMSF's are good, I will likely go that path later but many are not financially savvy enough to make the most benefit from one. Most day traders lose money, some make a living from it and a lesser number become wealthy from it.
