The flat earth theory was based largely on what was regarded as religious teachings.
However, in the past when evidence was not as strict as it has been for a while now, some maintained (and some still do) that there is evidence for a flat earth
My point is that despite evidence that was cherished at the time associated supported theories are still overturned. Do you wish to dispute this?
Even some religious people can think outside the influence of religion.
