What you are doing is presenting something that is irrelevant to the question; the terms of salvation......not for 'imprisoned spirits,' not the time of Noah or whatever,

The whatever is where you are missing the point. This is after Jesus leaves the cross. In between him resurfacing into the realm of the flesh again.
He makes proclaimations to the imprisoned spirits. The spirits of those who died in the time of Noah.

imprisoned spirits can they accept Jesus or not, or why, is irrelevant.

The issue here is the living,

They were living. Just as we are living. Jesus visited them. If you want to say in all absolute that those spirits weren't perhaps given a chance to accept Jesus, that's fine. It clearly says Jesus was in their presence.

us, how we think, what we are supposed to believe as a condition of salvation,

    That's correct.

    not 'imprisoned spirits'

Do we become spirits like the imprisoned spirits when we die like they died?
Why does Peter mention such a thing?
Is there no purpose to mentioning such an odd thing?
If there is, what could it be?
Why would Jesus be in their presence?
    What is Jesus proclaiming?

    The issue is what faith as a condition of salvation says about the character of God;

The character of Peter seems to be suggesting something of the character of Jesus.
Are we to believe it is a passing comment without any relevance to anything?
I find it something that shouldn't be dismissed as some kind of foolishness especially how it is involved in the whole chapter.

Keep to the point. If you don't want to answer the question, fine...

I can answer the questions exactly how you want me to. Exactly how you see it.

just don't go running through the brambles with your 'imprisoned spirits.'

They are not my imprisoned spirits.
They are or may not be the forunners to us. Are we to become them?

imprisoned spirits can they accept Jesus or not, or why, is irrelevant.

Ok, you are quite clear on that. I got the answers I sought. Thanks. It took a while.
