    I cant see anything much wrong with what George says (except for Euro) - I know a large number of extremely patriotic right wing Americans who say exactly the same thing.

    Personally I'm quite pleased to see a competitor currency to the USD - I think it's not healthy for there to be a default monopoly currency based in one country. The anomalous behaviour of the USD over the past 10 years or so (rising dollar with interest rates falling and a large current deficit) bears this out, along with the notorious "carry trade" between Japan and US.

    Personally - holding my foreign exchange in Euros, which are now widely accepted and for which you can get a better deal throughout Europe.
