Americans also look like they are changing too, Trump is still very popular.
The poms voting for Brexit was also a turn up for the books but unfortunately the remoaners are in charge again making a smooth brexit as hard as possible.
If i had a choice i would limit government debt to about 3% max of GDP with exemptions for War and maybe extra large natural disasters.
I think one of the worst things they've done is the ultra low rates, not only do governments borrow way too much money but if say wages only grow at 3% and houses grow at +15% pa or more due to ultra low rates every first home buyer after a few decades will be priced out because wages haven't kept up and then one gets all the problems that this brings.

Re : Gov debt and low rates IMHO the problem is that there are far too many decisions made which are 100% political
