Posco will inaugurate the first commercial lithium hydroxide plant in Argentina at the end of October

like Galan, our neighbour POSCO in the north has really stepped on the gas with the pond construction. The picture on the left is from January, the one on the right from 26 September. At the same time, they have built a hydroxide conversion plant in Güemes. A second plant for carbonates is being built in Hombre Muerto.Both have a capacity of 25 ktpa/LCE each. This means a total of 50,000 tonnes/LCE. However, the current ponds are not nearly sufficient for an output of 25 ktpa. Well, they are still building.
By way of comparison, Allkem currently has a current capacity of 32ktpa LCE in Fenix(Hybrid-DLE).
For Sal de Vida(evaporation) in the first phase (2025) 15 kpta are planned
and Olaroz has a current capacity of 43ktpa, Exar Cauchari-Olaroz nameplate
