There are two versions of the report, December and August 2024. You have to take the August version
I think there is just a drawing error in the bar chart of the August version.
Interestingly the August report has 191.000 tons overproduction and the December report has 50.000 tons less overproduction for 2025 Also Chile is expanding production 10.000 tons more in 2024 and 20.000 tons more in 2025 in the newer report
It seems that not only China, but also Chile is keeping the price down with higher production That will make it difficult for higher cost producers in 2025
Nevertheless the predictions for the lithium carbonate price looks promising for a low cost producer like Galan Of course it depends on the price, depending on the carbonate price, that can be agreed with Chemphys (hopefully November was the bottom, as the chart suggests)
