The Adnyamathanha Traditional Lands Association is currently under special administration and is unable to execute a native title mining agreement, or “NTMA” during this time. This is something Thomas Line has mentioned before in articles online. Whilst the supreme court has recently ruled on the ATLA case concerning the distribution of native title monies, the ATLA remains under special administration.
“We are optimistic that the process of special administration will soon allow the completion of an NMTA,” said Mr Line. This would be of mutual benefit to the company and the traditional owners.
I am personally unsure anything will happen regarding Flinders till the ATLA are out of special administration. Whilst I hope this will be sorted asap and the section 23 come through, it's really hard to know how long this will take.
