    I agree with your observation regarding BEV. Objectively speaking, the numbers of BEV sales V ICE is insignificant currently.

    Why aren't them making any money with the first mover advantage? Technically last quarter was the the FIRST profitable 3 months in their history. That is a start.


    Has that "lag" got anything to do with Chinese subsidy tweaking along the way? I can only see the Chinese creating an entire new industry organically independent on market trends. My belief is that the primary reason isn't pollution but equal level playing field. Through regulative policy decisions, every car manufacturer making and selling locally require a % of EV. This is not a market pressure decision but a sovereign strategic policy shift.

    This means the EV industry is exposed to the whim of the Chinese Govt policy shifts depending on their objective. Currently the industry is being caught out by their policy shift to quality instead of the quantity whereby Av Joe EV manufacturers milking the subsidy for profit at the determent of progressive EV battery tech.

    These fundamentals roosting are either very ST pile in as we saw from 2017/18 or a LT strategic creation with teething pains along the way. I don't have patience for those LT views to play out but we are all different financially, life span or personality. I am glad I didn't look at the headlights (Fukushima) but proactively reduced my loss and try to balance out with the gains. Those folks are still telling me now is the time to be loading up!
