squash you are correct, and this is key.
It is more important to protect the main aspects of any business model.
Example, China presently manipulates the IO price at a loss in the futures market to contain their internal State funded plan, this costs them $100'm on a daily basis but they need to protect the model.
Car/ battery companies will come (maybe 'gray-shadowly' already here at ARL working on the finer details); they will not have a choice ... this is now about self preservation and business protection.
