Amigo, that's too cryptic for me. I've heard of shorting, but it is not in my vocabulary. I had to do a bit of reading and came up with a quote: "Shorting, or short-selling, is when an investor borrows shares and immediately sells them, hoping he or she can scoop them up later at a lower price, return them to the lender and pocket the difference." That made some sense? SirGoldFinger can you correct me where I go wrong, please. My take is that with regards ARL, shorters sell shares that they don't really have with the aim of buying the replacement shares at a lower price at a later time. Therefore, if shares in ARL, or any of the battery-metal explorers/miners are shorted on a regular basis, then sooner or later the music will stop (when metal prices boom to meet the explonentially increasing demand). At that point there will be a mad scamble as the shorters bid to buy a limited number of shares in a tightly held register (ie when no one wants too sell). Consequently the shareprice of ARL goes through the roof. Could that partly explain the recent sharp increase in ARL's shareprice? How common do you think this practice is with junior explorers on the ASX? Thanks in advance amigo.
