I never posed that question to Matt, what I did ask him was what he thought about the price of cobalt if the supply demand came back into balance. I also pointed out that CRU releases a second report after the one he quoted that mentioned that when Katanga came online the price could drop to 30% if its current price. Also laterite mines are high up the cost curve compared to the DRC. Anyway just thought I’d share that. I have more questions to ask Matt. I’ll keep you all posted. I will also point out that the Glencore boss mentioned that he won’t be cannibalising his companies own investment by over supplying the market. Also Glencore owns a laterite mine and wants it to also be profitable. Something to think about.
