(Psalm 37:10, 11) Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there. 11 But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.
That was written about 3000 years ago.

Those words of David had a significance for the people of his day. David's rule saw him gain dominion over the portion of the earth assigned by his God Jehovah. And during the reign of his son Solomon people had peace from wicked enemies.

(1 Kings 4:20) Judah and Israel were as numerous as the grains of sand by the sea; they were eating and drinking and rejoicing.

(1 Kings 4:25) Judah and Israel lived in security, everyone under his own vine and under his own fig tree, from Dan to Beʹer-sheʹba, all the days of Solʹo·mon.

That it has a later and far greater fulfillment is made certain by the promises made about Christ Jesus' kingly rule.

(Revelation 11:18) But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time came for the dead to be judged and to reward your slaves the prophets and the holy ones and those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.”

(Revelation 19:19-21) And I saw the wild beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the one seated on the horse and against his army. 20 And the wild beast was caught, and along with it the false prophet that performed in front of it the signs with which he misled those who received the mark of the wild beast and those who worship its image. While still alive, they both were hurled into the fiery lake that burns with sulfur. 21 But the rest were killed off with the long sword that proceeded out of the mouth of the one seated on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
