Nice  to see some interest from respected "experts" in Armours part of the world....

    Article:
Armour Energy chief executive Robbert de Weijer warmly welcomed reports that Chesapeake co-founder Aubrey McClendon was eyeing Australia’s MacArthur Basin as a shale hotspot for his first venture out of the United States.
The Wall St Journal reported that McClendon’s American Energy Partners LP saw potential in the remote McArthur Basin in northern Australia, where Brisbane-based Armour Energy holds one of the largest  acreage positions, 34 million acres, an area the size of England.
“For someone like McClendon, who has apparently never invested outside North America, and who has probably looked all over the world and come up with the McArthur Basin and says he’s putting money into that … that is a huge endorsement for the Basin.
“What’s there to like? Obviously huge prospectivity for gas and also liquids and there are multiple shale opportunities, but also, very significantly, the area is scarcely populated with low social impact but close to infrastructure.”
De Weijer said plans for a pipeline linking the Northern Territory to the eastern states gas market, via either a northern route from Tennant Creek to Mt Isa, or a southern route via Alice Springs and Moomba, reflect the vast potential of the region.
“A key role is the support of the Northern Territory Government, which sees the development of the oil and gas industry as a huge enabler for other industries to take off as well,” de Weijer said.
He said the proposed northern pipeline route, which would run through Armour Energy’s acreage, would be significantly shorter, traverse easier terrain and should be more cost-effective and quicker to build than the more southern route.  Regardless of which route is adopted though, the new pipeline would be “very good news for us”.
Four companies have been shortlisted in the tender process for the pipeline; APA Group, Duet, Jemena and Merlin Energy. Bids have to be submitted by the September and the winning contractor in waiting will be announced by the end of the year.
