There seems little discussion here on why he leaked the documents.
It was not to highlight crimes committed by Australian soldiers in Afghanistan , it was to complain about the Army investigating claims , presumably aiming to interfere and perhaps derail those investigations.
My main complaint about the whole process is that the secrecy attached to the trial and the denial of access to evidence that the defence wanted , should not be allowed in a democracy.
A whistleblower or a toad?
Remember his motivation , his activities were aimed at preventing investigation of war crimes, the fact that his actions backfired spectacularly ,doesn't suddenly make him a saint.
