Australia has such a solid future in global energy security it almost needs a federal regulatory framework imo.

The Qld Govt has umbillical like connection to the coal and now GSG industries. The imaqe of a doting parent introducing the new baby to the much loved first child comes to mind. Expect a few tantums!

The NSW Govt is totally hooked on coal royalties and selling aging powergen assets ... and hasn't hit rock bottom or enrolled in detox. New beginnings like CSG and UCG are a way off yet imo.

The Vic Govt seems to wear having literally the world's dirtiest, aging coal fired powergen assets like a badge of honour and/or are stuck like roos in the headlights giving concessions to the powergen industry privatised a decade or so ago ... public pressure is against them, so watch this space.

The SA Govt perhaps has decent incentive to provide a good regulatory framework for UCG and CSG.

The WA Govt believe it or not, struggles to keep enough native WA gas for state needs and is possibly quite receptive to new energy initiatives like UCG imo.
