*** arq vs hdr: hard facts ***

At the end of July last year noone on this forum could get enough of HDR. I am very experienced in the share market. Yet even I was nearly stupid enough to fall for all that hype. Thankfully, I saw through it for what it was. I always do, as I never act on impulse or emotion in the stockmarket.

Check all the posts telling us all what a bargain, what a steal HDR was.

What about ARQ? Where were all the HC posts telling us what a bargain, what a steal ARQ was?

ARQ was after all a successful oil producer making excellent profits. But ARQ was basically ignored.

Here are the cold hard facts based on following the Hot Copper herd and investing $100,000 in HDR compared with ignoring the Hot Copper herd and investing $100,000 in ARQ at the July 31 closing price.

ARQ:
July 31: $1.07
Purchased: 93,458 shares
Cost: $100,000
Current price: $1.76
Current value: $164,486
Current profit: 64.49%

An investor who wanted to purchase $100,000 worth of shares in a quality oiler on 31st. July last year would be nearly $100,000 worse off by following the Hot Copper herd, and worse still, showing a significant loss of capital.
