How about just agreeing that arresting this guy was wrong and not trying to justify it. Yes he may have been shot or arrested in another country for the same thing - but he was not in another country he was in the US a counrty that wants to preach morals to other countries and arresting this guy was wrong plain and simple.
I suppose he is lucky the security guards or cops were not jewish - you would no doubt then not only be trying to justify it but probably also calling for the death penalty or better still use a bulldozer on his house.
