Do you think that management can somehow exclude certain classes of share holders, like if they are brokers who use their shares to short ?
Sorry ! Thats not the way a free market works.
If you want to invest in a company where a share holder has the price of their shares artifically protected & not subject to market forces then don't invest in public companies.
The whole reason people are selling shares is due to managements failure to deliver on the unrealistic expectations they built up amoungst their share holders.
IMO the best thing share holders could do as a group is to become more proactive about bringing management to account. The ASA may seem to some like a toothless tiger but they have had some good wins over the years.
And don't think that just because someone holds a less than positive view on the stock that they are somehow part of a conspiracy designed to fleece stock holders.
That is just a convenient mindset for those who do not want to face the reality of a bad investment decision.
