tuned out the keylogging programme had left behind a file "srvexc" that i eventually tracked to several places in the Registry - done!
Re the Lop.com thing - its a macromedia flash plug-in and once again took ages to find it in 3 or 4 different places in obscure parts of windows/system and /system32
gone!!
