Excellent post, not to mention the banks playing their part in the SI expansion which is now worthless.
Arrium has always been easy fix in my opinion, you're seeing that now with KM simply negotiating with all parties which previous management didn't have the spine to do. The self entitlement attitude within Arrium that has run from the very top right through to the floor which is a hangover from the BHP Steel days has to be removed like a cancer and it MUST start at the top level of Arrium.
It's culture change, BSL did it and they're firing on all cylinders. It's so simple from my perspective that it's very, very frustrating.
