Interesting analysis - from memory Arrium only roll rail up to 67kg metre weight and the bulk of their product is AS50 and AS60 rail. Scheduling that sort of rolling will be interesting (depending on delivery requirements) to allow rolls to be dressed, etc.

I'd have thought that the track would be a single line (2 rails) with passing bays at strategic locations (same as the Adelaide-Pt Augusta section of the ARTC mainline) which will lower the tonnage significantly. I also note that ARTC don't typically use steel sleepers ()they prefer concrete for the added weight and lower corrosion) as noted in the press release.

Rail pricing is a t a premium to steel pricing, but I'm not sure if you're referring to margins above or sell prices (which I would expect to be a lot higher!)
