A majority of steelworkers at Arrium's troubled Whyalla operations have rejected a pay cut designed to help make the company more attractive to potential buyers.
Australian Workers Union organiser Scott Martin says 53 per cent of the steelworkers voted against taking the 10 per cent cut after meeting on Wednesday.
Mining workers at Whyalla separately voted in favour of a pay cut but Mr Martin said he understood administrators KordaMentha were unlikely to implement cuts without consensus across both groups of employees.
