The wages are for mining and they work a longer working week then standard 38hr, the rate of a production worker (trucks etc) is about $30-35hr which is a standard 60-80k job mon-fri @38hrs. Just have to factor weekend and night shift rates and all the extra hours per week over 38hrs, which ends up around 100-110k for a miner.

a 60-80k job is pretty stock standard pay rate these days for a soft easy mon-fri office gig, home every night and weekends off.

remembering though the miners did agree to take the cut, steel didnt by it was 52% no? was close, but miners cant really have hours cut back like steel workers have had already, which would of produced a significant cost reduction already, the unions need to release the figures given up by steelworkers, so people can make proper judgement.

I am unaware of what they have given up would be good to hear from a worker to what cuts have been had to their pay packet to see what % has been taken already.
