The last group of boat people to arrive in OZ en masse was after the Vietnam war. Apart from a few bigots in our society i dont think that anyone can deny that those people have made a huge contribution to Australia. I think that (given a chance) our latest arrivals will do the same. I cannot blame anyone for trying to make a better life for themselves & their families. At the same time those that ensconce themselves in our society and preach hatred and intolerance should be returned to there country of origin.
