When i travel i love to go to galleries musuems, Wander till my eyes wont focus anymore.So here is a thread devoted to art and architecture. Hopefully we can avoid the usual suspects and post things that surprised in the flesh or that were new discoveries. Some memories for the poster and some suggestions for others to plan around.
Orvieto Duomo. Much more than expected after Rome church overload. The building with its guilt mosiacs, rose window, the four pillars on which are carved bible stories form creation to judgement and the wonderful Signorelli frescoes inside. In the judgement day below he has painted himself as the blue horned demon in the middle of the group grabbing a maiden.
