The West Australian Minister for Energy, Peter Collier, has denied the government is considering buying back the state's domestic gas supplier Alinta.
The Premier, Colin Barnett, decided to sell Alinta when he was the Energy Minister in the previous Liberal government in 1999.
Alinta's parent company, Babcock and Brown, has suffered as a result of the global financial crisis and has put the utility up for sale.
Mr Collier says the Government has no interest in purchasing Babcock and Brown's Alinta assets in Western Australia and he has not discussed the issue with the Premier.
