Today's Fin Review has an interesting article "Chance for Malaysians to beat racial ghost" ( AFR, P 22, 2nd May)
The article says that 50% of the population is Malay Muslim, 10% Christian/Animist, 25% Chinese and the remaining 15% Indian.
Sunday's vote , IMO, will return the ruling government because the
Malayian Muslims are not likely to agree to a power sharing arrangement
where the Muslims are in the minority. Memories of the Indians comming
to power in Fiji and the subsequent military coup come to mind.
Anyway, by next Monday we should all know the results which leaves only
10 hrs of ASX trading left.
