so the 9 days provided to the bidder for extra d/d and negotiations expires by this Friday 21 Dec 2012.

so that only leaves 1/2 day to announce the bid IF it is to be before Xmas - Monday 24 Dec?- because ASX closes early. 2.10pm

You gotta wonder - do they (LNG/HQC/Petro) drag it out from Feb to now, with the intention of making any announcement over the Xmas - New Year break?
Everyone is away, so not much attention would be directed towards a WCL t/o?
not many competitors on deck to consider any competing approach?
although, one would have to think that if a competitor was interested, they would already have their tactics/plans already established.
