For immediate release 28 January 2014 INTERNATIONAL MINING AND INFRASTRUCTURE CORPORATION PLC
    (“IMIC” or “the Company”)

    Commencement of PFS for Nkout
International Mining & Infrastructure Corporation plc (AIM: IMIC), the company focused on unlocking the value of African iron ore, is pleased to announce that it has commenced work on the Preliminary Feasibility Study (“PFS”) for the development of the Nkout deposit in Cameroon.
Work on the PFS follows IMIC’s acquisition of Afferro Mining Inc., whose assets included the Nkout deposit, and the signing of definitive agreements with IMIC’s strategic partners for the development of the associated infrastructure.

It is expected that the PFS will be completed in Q3 2014.
Nkout is IMIC’s largest iron ore deposit in Cameroon, located 330km from the seaport of Kribi. A Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA), conducted in 2012 by Afferro, reviewed various annual outputs from Nkout. A 35mtpa option, on a shared infrastructure basis, gave a post-tax net present value of $4.6bn.

IMIC’s PFS will include the development of an infrastructure solution for Nkout. IMIC, along with its strategic partner African Iron Ore Group (“AIOG”), is progressing the development of this infrastructure solution along with a consortium of major Chinese companies including railway engineers, manufacturers, producers and iron ore off-takers. This infrastructure solution – primarily a rail line between Nkout and Kribi – will be multi-purpose and multi-user, potentially serving other mining licences in the emerging iron ore corridor through South Cameroon, North Congo and Gabon and contributing to social and economic development in the region.

The PFS work is integral to the future structuring and financing of Nkout’s rail and port infrastructure. Therefore the members of the infrastructure consortium will be actively involved with the PFS work. China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group (“CREEC”), which will ultimately be responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction contract following completion of a Definitive Feasibility Study, is undertaking the PFS elements relating to raillLine and port facilities.
