Thanks for your messages re this. I was deeply annoyed and concerned when the full sign-off was truncated, removing the element that stated clearly that Katherine had done some work for BHP. This happened in production, despite my stipulation to the production chief that the identification run in full. What I should have done was also put a note on the story. In the rush to get the pages out on deadline, a sub-editor made the cut, not knowing of my conversation with the chief-sub.

I regret any concern this has caused, particularly as I thought the opinion piece was valid and informative.
