There was an article in Thursday's Australian newspaper which claims that Village Roadshow Corp plan to use the recent weakness in the share price of Village Roadshow Ltd to take control of VRL without impinging on the takeover laws.

According to the article VRC currently do not have majority control of VRL.
I checked last years Annual Report and this lists VRC as a substantial shareholder with 50.03% of the Fully Paid Ordinary shares.
Doesn't that give VRC majority control of VRL without needing to acquire any more shares than they held as at 14/9/01?
