@Goldphish -- If you put it that way, then I would be willing to say: they will finish all F-35 orders 3000+ and new orders to do with the F-35. If development took a shorter time frame for a hybrid, then work especially for the body frame could be done by QHL as they have the capability (through the same structure it is setup now) i.e. Lockheed --> NorthropG --> Quickstep. What ever happens, it is a different plane. They won't just drop off the F-35. That is locked in. This could be a separate jet that is manufactured at the same time a the F-35 aswell... that is to say if the F-35 does get many more orders in the future >3000+ jets.
