Original hole - drilled to 3900m with high mud weight and fluid loss and open for up to 25 days before they attempted to run wireline. Sidetrack - will be drilled to 3500m (logs run to that depth previously) with reduced mud weight and fluid loss and logs will be in the hole as soon as its TD'ed.
Not sure how you interpret risk of problems in the sidetrack as very high.
Not much cash in the kitty? Two exploration wells funded and only the dumbest explorer doesn't cost in at least one sidetrack for a well.
