Hopefully LIT can be part of the LFP solution, and save some costs and greenhouse gas from wasteful lithium Carbonate conversion. We'll eventually find out.

All the recent discussion about LFP vs High Nickel – this seems very similar to the “VHS vs Betamax” video recording technology battle of business school case study fame. Betamax provided better video quality but more limited recording capacity (read: range) per tape and was more expensive (read $/kwh). The ultimate winner in that technology war was VHS despite its clear limitations. I am not saying high nickel cathode is the Betamax of the 2020s but I am saying adapting quickly to technology changes is a critical success factor for the lithium industry and Ganfeng has proven thus far to be the most adaptable of the “Big 4” lithium players. One other sobering thought is that neither Betamax nor VHS is part of the Gen Z or Millennial vocabulary. Unlike many others in the lithium world Ganfeng is developing a green energy “ecosystem” rather than seeing themselves as simply a lithium company. They seem to understand better than others that “past isn’t prologue”."
