Tuesday, August 10, 2004 CATERPILLAR dealer WesTrac Equipment and Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) will deliver Minara Resources' a new equipment fleet under a combined $144 million supply and maintenance deal.
The new fleet, comprising 26 units, will be progressively delivered to the company's Murrin Murrin laterite nickel mine, between Leonora and Laverton in Western Australia, over the next 12 months. It will replace the site's existing fleet.
WesTrac will supply all mobile equipment except mine excavators, which will be sourced from Hitachi. Both companies will be responsible for fleet maintenance services for the next six years.
The initial acquisition cost of the new fleet is $52 million.
