The honorary distinction awarded today to the native of Bamoungoum, in the third district of Bafoussam, also recognizes his sharp business acumen. Indeed, Mbe Idriss Confiance has successfully convinced several Asian investors to choose Cameroon as their destination, leveraging his intellectual services as a consultant in auditing and taxation, as well as his role as a trainer of young accountants within Chinese-owned companies operating in Cameroon. These include, among others:Bonne Chance Petroleum (distribution of petroleum products),Yi Cheng Pharmaceutical Group Fabrication (production and sale of pharmaceutical products and development of a hospital complex with ultra-modern medical facilities),Cameroon Mining Company (industrial exploitation of the Mbalam iron ore deposit),Cameroon Steel (steel production),Wanze Sarl (wood industry),Hotel Blue Diamond (hospitality sector),Xing Yang Mining (artisanal gold mining), etc.Mbe Idriss Confiance has used his numerous stays abroad and his social skills to bring all these Chinese investments to Cameroon. He is also credited with the arrival of China Railway 20th Bureau Group Corporation (CR20) in the country. This company, the African subsidiary of the giant China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC), carried out roadwork on Lot 2A Ntui-Ndjolé (60 km), including 73 km of municipal roads, and Lot 2B, Ndjolé-Mankim (36.7 km), on National Road No. 15.CRCC is also part of the consortium of Chinese companies led by Bestway Finance LTD involved in the development of the Mbalam/Nabeba mega-mining project, the backbone of which is the construction of the Mbalam-Kribi railway (540 km) and a mineral export terminal at the port of Kribi, with an annual handling capacity of 125 million tonnes. This Chinese public construction company will carry out both of these large-scale infrastructure projects.
