I suggest this is a 'must read' for those investing into this technology.


There are so many golden nuggets regarding BrainChip. It is clear the first smartphone with learning technology for speech recognition is going to be for the Chinese market... and will not be Samsung/Apple.

I have summarised some of the key points:

- Google paid $400 for Deep Mind an AI Start Up in 2014
- Facebook has started its own AI research Lab
- Firms such as Narrative Science are working automating writing reports
- Forbes is already using the technology from Narrative Science
- AI will automate some work types includes "quants" in finance
- in 2012 Dr Ng at Google showed machine learning and categorisation of you tube images
- Google is interested in this work because it can deliver better search results
- Learning algorithms have also delivered better results analysing data at CERN
- Dr Ng, now ad Baidu, suggests speech recognition on smart phones will bring internet to illiterate people in China
- Baidu has 10% of searches by voice - could be 50% by 2020
- AI builds intelligence responses but does not seek to become a biological mind
- Cleverer computers will take over your job before taking over the world
