i think the shuttle will fly again the US will plough ahead and at the same time fasttrack development of its replacement - the chinesse are pushing ahead very fast.
What we need is strong breakthroughs in key areas of technology - propulsion of space vechiles - nanotech - materials - higher end computing simulations for new space technology.
