Thanks for the response. The numbers I went with were purely illustrative, but it really wouldn't make a difference if they were long a 65c and started shorting at 65. It isn't a strategy any investment manager or fund manager would contemplate or would even be permitted to execute. Investment mandates, even for hedge funds, don't like this kind of behaviour... it makes zero sense.
I do agree though that it's been a catalyst for short positioning, did the company have a duty to disclose that? I'm not sure, I'm not a lawyer.
Should be an interesting next few years, that's the horizon I think people need to consider.
