I struggle with it all as, Oil:Middle East is one factor - then Gold:Geopolitics slightly different - combined with USD:Risk-on and Rick-off influences both.
Generally market up seems to equal USD down, and vice versa.
Gold seems linked to bitcoin also. Kinda like a bet against holding stocks.
REE's may be developing into another currency again ... like new age gold for the new non-hydrocarbon energy time. Maybe!
