The problem with this entire argument is it ignores both the extensive suite of tarriffs about to hit, and strategic supply to mitigate risk.
This strategic ensuring of supply became very evident on two factors, Covid and China tensions (single source risk, such as what happened to Japan in 2010).
If I was a shareholder of Hyundai, Siemens, GE, POSCO, VW, Lockheed Martin, whoever - I would very very much want to ensure my company is taking approriate measures to ensure strategic supply in the event of a risk event.
