It will also work the other way once things turn around, which I don't expect until later in the year. If the Fed raises rates quickly (and I hope they do), it'll shorten the time needed until they start printing again. I don't think they can raise rates to 5% it would tank the govt from it's loan repayment obligations. Fastest way out of this is to deflate the stock bubble, then re-inflate by printing once the leverage and liquidity has stopped out the marginal holders. Then we go round again, in another 7 year cycle.
