While I can agree with your sentiment from a "retail" perspective ... the information is there to appreciate what is happening. I can't compete with shorters and don't short but I can try to understand what's happening and what's happening right now is the shorters went a further 900k short on Friday when the news of the Israeli strike on Iran was notified and now that seems a little of an over-reaction - so far anyway.

I expect the shorters are within 10-12% of their maximum position ... so that's a positive.

Perhaps they expect one more negative PR to allow the gap to fill.

But if the next PR is FA positive they still have enough profit to clear a significant amount of their short ... so it sure feels like a decent time to be long. Especially when the short position is leveraged in favour of longs right here.

That's the twist here ... going long today greatly benefits from the shorts if the news is a 50:50 call.
