Regarding your query about where the west is going to get their magnets from, I refer you to the March 2024 announcement by POSCO - search "China excluded supply chain for rare earth magnets". The wheels are starting to turn in this direction and it is most certainly not going to be "all China".
By the way, I wonder which Australia rare earth developer has been cuddling up to the South Koreans?
