Define "rest of Australia". The media is pushing a narrative. A great cohort of boomers, the Managerial class and professional workers have never had it better.
The main change that has helped a bit with cost of living is the increases to minimum wages and the recent increase for health care workers.
Low paid workers are where the REAL "cost of living" pressure is but every time there's any attempt to help that cohort the same "cost of living" media cries blue murder.
