Hi enoomai .... I am curious about Austal because - like an iceberg- it seems so much more than the local super yacht builder into which a friend’s son graduated into an apprentice engineer position a few years back.
And because it has opened my eyes (again) to the .. .. er .. .. wheeling and dealing that seems to often go on in public companies with some of the very biggest no less corrupted than the penny dreadfuls I once naively believed ‘ownedrs ’ that sector of the market.

Tales of sexy ‘secret agents’ tasked with using seduction to win contracts, bribery accusations, sweatshop accusations, and cheap new land deals at the US base in Mobile, Alabama (where an erratic Trump recently put thousands of jobs at risk by annexing naval funds to build his Mexican wall) are just some of the stories that keep me tuning into the Austal ‘Perils of Pauline’ saga.

And this Subic shipyard episode as well.

Cerberus is another entity I have had a passing interest in after reading an eye opening story on its HFT trading techniques, and about its influence with Deutsche bank and enormous political and weaponry clout and more ...

If such a powerful entity is truly driven to acquire the shipyard will the Phillipines government really stand up to it?

.....And as far as breaching rules go do Austal, Cerberus - or the Phillipines government for that matter - have much of a record in adhering to them in the past ?
And what of the competitor bidders?
