Bill Shorten advised parliament he was very impressed with David Thodey's leadership position during the telstra ,govt, union meeting and that's fine and good.
But bill shorten lost me when he said on foxtel he understands commodity prices go up and down because he watches sky business.
So his asbestos solution is to create a committee to establish a national register to list any australian that feels they may have been exposed to asbestos.
The obvious problem imo is australia is full of asbestos, every house, commercial building, school, fibro fence, shed, roof,in cement etc etc i think pre 1980 is full of asbestos so why not just list every australian.
I thinks its fair telstra has in place a system to cover its employees that work around asbestos but under strict procedures,i think schools are similar but not sure due to the amount of asbestos in schools, but a national register makes no sense imo.
ps read the other day telstra's cloud customers increased 3000 to 16,000 1H 2013 but have increased 4,000 to 20000 by may 2013,well some positive news.
